Behind the Music

Dear Child of the King:

The Holy Spirit gave me this song during a time of intense personal struggle. In my frustration and sorrow, I cried out to God, pleading for Him to relieve my pain. He responded not by removing the problems I faced, but rather by posting a question.

"Who am I,?" He asked.
"You're the King," I replied.
"And if I am King, then who are you?," He asked again.

Puzzled by His seemingly irrelevant questions, I answered, "I'm your daughter."
"Yes," He replied. "But what does that make you?"
"A Princess," I said.

Then He began to show me through His word that my need was not so much for deliverance, but for declaration -- of my identity, authority and power in Him. If He is King, then He has given me unparalleled spiritual authority and wealth which is mine for the taking through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ, and by applying the word of God.

My circumstances have not changed drastically -- some things we must endure by His grace. But since I've discovered my true identity in Christ Jesus, I have been transformed.

And so can you.

May this song bless your soul, fill you with joy, and cause you to seek the riches that are yours through your Heavenly Father, the King of Kings!
